It was a slow start with both teams scoring 1 basket each in the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter we scored 4 times, in the 3rd quarter we only scored 1 but Long Ridings scored 3 times in the 4th quarter. In the second half we picked the pace up scoring 9 more times to their 1, leaving the score at 29-10 to Doddinghurst. WELL DONE DODDINGHURST! The first quarter of the first half ended with Quilters slightly ahead. The rest of the first half both sides battled hard with basket for basket at both ends. On Monday the 10th January, year 5 had a basketball match against and beat them 48-31. It was a great win. George Barden scored an amazing basket from the free throw line and Joshua Mason threw an amazing pass to Daniel Game who was half way down the court scoring a layup. Danny Sharland scored two baskets in a row when he caught the rebound off of George Scannell's amazing shot. We hope the team does very well in the future. We took an exceptional lead in the first two quarters, we managed to maintain that lead in the third and fourth quarters, with our defence getting stronger. However, in the second half, Buttsbury gained their stride and scored 5 baskets, giving them 10 points. On Tuesday Year 6 played a Basketball match against St Anne Line. The first quarter it was relatively close, it was in the 2nd quarter that we pulled ahead. At half time it was 24-4. On 14th October 2010 Doddinghurst Junior School played a basketball match against South Green. It was an exhilarating but easy match and Doddinghurst breezed through.
