Healthier and safer lifestyles (drugs and their uses)

Healthier and safer lifestyles (drugs and their uses)

The year timetable is going to be extremely full and demanding for your children and we ask that you support us and your child by encouraging them both in school and with their homework.

PE remains on a Monday and Wednesday, so full kit should be in school.
Spellings will be issued on a Friday for a test the following week.

Later on in the second half of the term, we will be arranging an Isle of Wight meeting, to discuss the trip in full.

Although this is a pressured time for your children, we want them to enjoy coming to school and learning new things. As you can see we have continued with topic work and hope that this enables them to explore and develop their skills. All we ask of the children is that they try their best and let us know if they are finding things difficult.

If there any questions or worries that you have, please don’t hesitate to come and see us. We are looking forward to a productive term

Homework

Homework will continue to be given out on a Wednesday and should be handed in to their groups on a Monday morning.

We would ask that the children continue to read at least three times a week, however we will not be asking for their reading records on a weekly basis. Instead we will be giving the children a book in which they can write their own book reviews, draw illustrations from or feedback on the book they have read. These will be shown to their literacy group teacher each time they have finished a book.

There will be a meeting arranged to discuss the new revision homework books that your children will be bringing home. At this meeting you will also be able to order and buy practice papers for your child.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you about the pack you received at the parents meeting. This is full of ways of supporting your child in the run up to their SAT’s.

If you would like to help with reading please do not hesitate to contact one of their teachers.
